This is a shade-grown organic and Fair Trade Certified bean. The Tabaconas Valley, where this coffee is grown, experienced severe deforestation over the past 50 years. Most of the remaining patches of forests are actually coffee plantations. In this sense, our coffee is Bird Friendly -- especially the new plantations that are replacing pasture and sugar cane with trees and coffee bushes. Peruvian organic stands up well in the cup. It features a mild acidity, subtle nuttiness and a soft finish; a great evening coffee for entertaining. This medium roast is roasted fresh specifically for your order.
